Dennis L. Martire is deeply committed to enhancing working conditions and ensuring that all laborers under his purview have access to well-paying and secure employment opportunities. As a dedicated member and recognized leader of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA), specifically representing Local #1058 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Martire’s steadfast progression within the union reflects his unwavering dedication and service to its members.

In addition to his responsibilities overseeing LiUNA’s Mid-Atlantic Region, Martire actively participates in various boards and committees. His involvement spans organizations such as the American High Speed Rail Alliance Advisory Board, the Blue Ribbon Commission on Maryland Transportation Funding, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA), and the Dulles Area Transportation Authority.

Martire also plays a significant role in the Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund of North America (LHSFNA) and serves as a Trustee for the Mid-Atlantic Laborers’ Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (MALECET). Furthermore, he holds positions as Chairman of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Organizing Coalition (MAROC) and Chairman of the Performance Management Committee, while also serving as a Committee Member for the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board (PA WIB), among other affiliations.

Currently residing in Northern Virginia with his family, Martire’s journey in advocacy traces back to his attainment of a Bachelor of Science degree in Government from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1986. Beyond his role as a union leader dedicated to enhancing working conditions for LiUNA members, Martire oversees LiUNA’s comprehensive training program, covering a diverse array of subjects and specialties. This initiative not only facilitates career advancement for workers but also underscores the invaluable contributions of union workers to enhanced productivity and profitability for employers.
